Square Stud. The novel stud design improves driving safety in winter. The hard-metal pin and lower flange of the new stud are four-cornered. The studs are placed in a diamond-like formation along the direction of traffic, which significantly improves grip on ice in all directions.
Directional Studding (Eco Stud System 4). New stud positioning (Eco Stud System 4) in factory studding. The sharp end of the square-shaped hard metal pin always points in the driving direction, ensuring excellent ice grip.
Eco Stud System. With Eco Stud System, you get more safe driving hours than with traditional studding systems. The advanced system of prepared stud holes and padding under the studs prevents the studs from working loose and keeps them in the tire for longer. The durable rubber compound around the stud seat keeps a firm grip on the stud throughout the useful life of the tire.
Canola-Silica Compound. Using a canola-silica compound in the tread improves the tire's wet grip and reduces rolling resistance without compromising the tire's good winter properties.
Sipe Activators. The sipe activators on the edge of the tire's tread pattern enhance the sipes' performance on the most slippery surfaces.
Purified Oils. Only purified oils, no toxic or carcinogenic chemicals, are used in our tire production. Nokian Tyres is a pioneer of environmental friendliness in its field and is the world's first tire manufacturer to have introduced purified, low-aromatic oils in its production. The tire's wet grip and other safety properties are excellent.
Driving Safety Indicator, DSI Summer. The driving safety indicator on the center rib of the tire indicates groove depth. The numbers stamped on the tread show the remaining groove depth in millimeters. The numbers fade one at a time as the tire wears down.
Information Field. The tire's information field can be used to mark the correct inflation pressure and the tire's place on the car during the storage season.
The Mud Stopper. The mud stopper prevents damage to the tire by stopping dirt and other objects from getting caught between the tire and the rim. Available in 14inch and bigger sizes.
